Plating Process
Plating, or Electroplating, is a versatile process that coats surfaces for a wide range of common applications, including automobile trim and bathroom faucets. This coating method is widely used because of its flexibility and because of its resistance to wear and corrosion.
Gold, silver, chromium, copper, nickel, tin, and zinc are typically used for the coating, and can be applied to a vast number of surfaces, both metal and non-metal alike.
The results and advantages of Electroplating are similar to those of Electroless Nickel Plating, but employ a different process. Electroplating utilizes electricity to apply the coating to the surface.
