HelioxTMVT, Helium3 refrigerator, vacuum loaded to fit into a VTI.

HelioxVT

A sample-in-vacuum 3He refrigerator that provides a simple means of cooling samples below 280mK for over 24 hours.

It is designed to fit into any of our variable temperature inserts (VTI) with 30mm or 50mm access. As it uses the cold gas environment of the VTI, there is no need for a 1K pot on the insert.

This provides two key benefits:

  • The sample temperature range of a new or existing VTI can be extended below 280mK
  • There is no liquid helium in the sample horizontal plane making the Heliox®VT ideal for neutron or X-ray scattering experiments

This design of this system is unique and protected by patent US5829270.

Magnetic Fields

The HelioxVT is fully compatible with the Oxford Instruments range of standard superconducting magnets in both standard and extended length dewars.
