X-MET3000TX+ - Lightweight, hand-held XRF analyzer for quality control and material verification

X-MET3000TX+ for analyzing metals

X-MET3000TX in QC and Metal Verification

PMI ensures that the right metal is used in process systems where corrosive conditions, extreme temperatures and high pressures meet. PMI is a mandatory process required by major companies in the process industry and in all companies which supply process system components (e.g. valves and pipes).
The PMI testing process, along the whole metal manufacturing supply chain - inspection of incoming goods, testing during production and manufacturing of goods – will be more important when supply chains of products become more global.

With one pull of the trigger, the X-MET3000TX+ delivers faster than ever color-coded alloy identification and assay analysis.

The new PentaPIN™ detector - based on the Oxford Instruments’ proven and patented  PentaFET® technology means faster analysis and lower detection limits for all elements. Low detection limit is an irreplaceable feature also when low concentrations of valuable and important alloying elements, or unvanted elements of metals need to be measured. The analyzer must be able to measure the alloying elements of metals at very low concentrations (e.g. Ti in steels at the level of 0.05%) to be able to identify the alloy correctly.

The analyzer of choice in all conditions, on-site or in-field

  • The material to be inspected can be difficult to access (eg. a refinery platform)
  • The X-MET3000TX+ analyzer is battery operated, compact, robust and has a proven track record of withstanding harsh use
  • The material to be inspected can be hot (e.g. like a tube in a power plant)
  • The heat shield on the X-MET3000TX+ allows the measurement of hot surfaces up to 400°C / 750°F
  • The weld material often needs to be verified from a narrow seam (material around the seam must be excluded)

Accurate, fast and precise point and shoot analysis

  • Routine Identification in seconds
  • 304/321 separation in less than 5 seconds
  • Grade 7/CPTi in 2 seconds

Analyze large or small samples, solids or chips, turnings or savings - just point and shoot

  • Sizes and forms of the samples vary extensively. X-MET3000TX+ compensates for distance and shape of the sample
  • Inspect pipes, welds etc. for corrosion resistance
  • Inspect pressure equipment for alloy composition
  • Wires of less than 1mm in diameter can be identified in seconds
  • Software supports multiple languages including Chinese, Russian, German, French and others
  • Extensive and open alloy library enables to add new elements and to create a unique library

Four modes of operation

  • The Empirical assay calibration
  • Fundamental Parameters (FP) calibration
  • Direct spectral identification
  • PASS/FAIL mode
  • 5 year X-ray tube warranty and 2 year instrument warranty
